IAS/SAMREC awards

Gold Fields was honoured with an award for the Best Overall Reporting of Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves at the Investment Analyst Society (IAS) SAMREC Awards Ceremony, held on the 3rd August 2010, at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE).
The Gold Fields report took the form of an overview of its operations and several separate technical statements, with information under the same headings for each of its operations, including salient features, operating statistics, geological setting and mineralisation, local geology, exploration and drilling, mining, mine planning and scheduling, projects, mineral processing, sustainable development, mineral resources and reserves, modifying factors, grade tonnage curves, mineral reserve sensitivity, year-on-year mineral resources and mineral reserves reconciliation, regulatory codes, competent persons, key technical staff and history.
The IAS/SAMREC Judging Panel introduced four SAMREC awards:-
- SAMREC Award for the Best Environmental Section – Keaton Energy
- SAMREC Award for the Best Exploration Section – African Rainbow Minerals
- SAMREC Award for the Most Improved Annual Report – Northam Platinum
- Acknowledgement to the Design House who compiled the winning IAS/SAMREC Best Overall Reporting of Resources and Reserves – Ince.Motiv
