Modikwa runner brings home gold medal in 2009 Comrades

Peter Molapo, an employee at Modikwa Platinum Mine, brought home gold by finishing in 8th position during this year’s Comrades Marathon which took place on Sunday 24 May 2009.
Peter, who ran in Nedbank colours, finished the race in a time of 5 hours, 42 minutes and 25 seconds. Modikwa’s other top runner, Leboka Noto, (Mr Price International Team), suffered some misfortune when he tore a calf muscle 7 km before the finish line. Leboka was also strongly on his way to achieve a gold medal.
In addition, Modikwa Marathon Club achieved six more medals: two Silver medals (between 6 and 7.5 hours) and four Bill Rowan medal (sub 9 hours).
