Trading update
14 July 2005
Shareholders are advised that as a result of adverse ferrochrome market conditions the Company will be temporary shutting down three of its ferrochrome furnaces, at its Machadodorp works, for a period of 1 month commencing on 25 July 2005. The furnaces being shut down are in addition to a furnace already out of operation for routine maintenance. It is estimated that the effect of the shutdown will lower the Company’s ferrochrome production by 20 000 tons for the 2005/2006 financial year.
