Avmin appoints new directors

Three new directors have been appointed to the board of Avmin.

Following the acquisition by Anglo American of a significant interest in Anglovaal Mining Limited (Avmin), three new directors have been appointed to the board of Avmin.

The new directors, nominated by Anglo American, are Messrs Barry Davison, David Barber and Philip Baum, while Mr William (Bill) Nairn has been nominated as Mr Davison’s alternate.

Mr Davison, 56, is the executive chairman of Anglo Platinum Limited, chairman of the Anglo Ferrous Metals division and an executive director of Anglo American plc. Mr Barber, 49, is the financial director of Anglo American Corporation of SA Limited, while Mr Baum, 47, is the chief operating officer of Anglo American Corporation of SA Limited. Mr Nairn, 57, is Anglo American plc’s group technical director.
