Completion of Chief Executive Officer succession process

Further to the announcement made on 28 February 2011 titled “Commencement of Chief Executive Officer Succession Process” ARM announces the completion of the process to identify a successor for the current Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) Andre Wilkens.

After a comprehensive search process, the ARM Board of Directors is pleased to announce the decision to appoint Michael (Mike) Schmidt, an internal candidate from the ARM Platinum Division, as the CEO designate from 1 September 2011. He will thereafter work with Andre Wilkens for a period of six months as part of a hand over process.

Mike Schmidt will take over as CEO of ARM from March 2012.

Andre Wilkens will continue to be employed as an Executive Director and his responsibilities will include the growth and strategic development of the Company. He will be based in the office of the Executive Chairman.

Patrice Motsepe, ARM’s Executive Chairman said, “I am excited to welcome Mike Schmidt as the new CEO of ARM. Mike has been with ARM for the last four years and will continue with the internal growth process that is currently underway and will also lead the African and external growth strategy.

“I would also like to express my deep appreciation and gratitude to Andre Wilkens for the outstanding leadership that he has provided as CEO of ARM.”
